Have your ELF a merry little Christmas

Hiya! This little Buddy from Elf svg is another one I got from doing a blog hop a little bit ago. Sorry, the file is no longer available. I used my pretty new Cricut Explore to cut him out. I hid the face in Design Space so I could give him a face with the Wide Eyed Kids 1 1/8 set from PeachyKeenStamps
Little baby Buddy is so cute. ;) The greeting is from the Oh By Golly set from PeachyKeenStamps...which is super awesome and HUGE and you totally need it. There is still time to take advantage of the killer SALE at PeachyKeenStamps. ;) OH...almost forgot...I used the fabulous Candy Stripe Background stamp from PeachyKeenStamps for my card base.

We wish you a kickin' Christmas

Howdy! ;) I hope you're having a swell day. I made this card with the Cowboy Christmas set from PeachyKeenStamps. I gold heat embossed the boot and watercolored it with my distress markers. I made the greeting by selectively inking two sets. I used the Holiday Sentiments set for the "we wish you a Christmas" part. I used the Faceless Chickens set for the "kickin" part. For whatever reason, I had a really hard time getting a decent photo of this card. Sorry about that.

Happy birthday Kathy da Peachy Queen!!!! :)

Today is a very special day, it's Kathy's {the Peachy Queen} birthday!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHY!!! Kathy is the obscenely talented lady behind PeachyKeenStamps. And here is the birthday card I made for her. I stamped and paper pieces the Tropical Vacation Kitty Cat. Eek! I just LOVE her so much! The kitty AND Kathy. ;)
The greeting and speech bubble are from the December 2013 set from PeachyKeenStamps. I used adorable papers from Lawn Fawn...and of course made a little shaker using the Bunch of Fun Circles Dies and the Stitched Rectangular Frames and More dies from MyCreativeTime

***Warning...borderline naughty card*** :)

See, I warned ya in my blog post title. ;) I got this hysterical SVG file of Cousin Eddie from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation from a blog hop a few days ago on my pal Michelle's blog. I used my new Cricut Explore to cut him out. I did him up pretty much the same way Michelle did. He is just so funny!
I used the Alpha Pack from MyCreativeTime to make my greeting...a.k.a. Cousin Eddie's famous line from the flick. And, yes, this is a Christmas card. ;) Boy, did I crack up while I was making this.

Here's the clip of this part of the movie.

Warm Winter Wishes, Addie

Hello. There is a little girl named Addie, who is likely celebrating her last Christmas. Her family thought it would be nice for her to get a lifetime of Christmas cards. You can read about her story HERE, and like her Facebook page HERE. I encourage you to make her a card. :)
For my card for her, I've used my brand new Cricut Explore to cut the adorable Faceless Penguins Peachy Pieces SVG from PeachyKeenStamps. You get 2 cutie pie penguins in the set. I gave miss penguin her sweet face with the Happy Penguin Couples 1 1/8 set from PeachyKeenStamps.
I used the Cableknit Background from PeachyKeenStamps on her hat. I inked the hat with bubble gum Hero Arts shadow ink, and then stamped the background with the same ink. I used passion flower Hero Arts shadow ink for the purple bits. I added wink of stella to the purple bits as well. The greeting is from the Holiday Sentiments set by PeachyKeenStamps. And I made her name with the Alpha Pack set from MyCreativeTime. Miss penguin is on a WOBBLE so she wiggles. :)

Cricut Explore vs. Cricut Expression Cut Comparison

Hello! It's here, IT'S HERE!!! :) Here is the picture I snapped with my phone last night when I took my new Cricut Explore out of the box. :) I knew that when I got the machine, I wanted to do some comparison cuts with it and my trusty old Cricut Expression. I was always disappointed in the way a circle and a scalloped circle cut with my Expression, so I knew that is what I would compare. I also compared an intricate scalloped circle design. I used some of THIS cardstock from Walmart to really put both machines to the test with not so great cardstock. Here I cut this design from the Cindy Loo cricut cartridge...
I cut them both at the same size {4 inches}, but the Explore did a much better job. The Cricut Explore is a much more detailed cut. Look at the little heart on the bird's head. The scallop around the outside is more even. What I found with all the cuts I made, is that the Explore actually cuts true to size. The Expression cuts everything just a little bigger than the actual size selected. {No this wasn't a sizing/real dial size mistake by me...I know my way around a Cricut} ;)
I used the Cricut Craft Room Basics cartridge for my circle and scalloped circles cuts. I cut the circle at 2 inches with both machines. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the Expression cuts a wonky circle. And again, it's bigger than the circle the Explore cut.
Here is where you can really see the difference! I cut both at 2.25 inches. Look how perfectly the Explore cut! Again, the Expression's cut is wonky, and those scallops look terrible.

In addition to being extremely impressed with how the Explore cuts, I am in LOVE with the Design Space program you use with it. It is incredibly simple to use. And the best part??? You can cut SVG's with it! I've already loaded all my SVG's into Design Space, and if I can do that, you KNOW it's incredibly simple! ;)

So there it is. My 2 cents on the new Cricut Explore. And if you feel the need to get one yourself, it's on sale again for $199 HERE at Walmart. :) {that's where I got mine}

Season's Greetings

Hiya! For my card today I used the super cute Faceless Snowmany Mittens and Hats set from PeachyKeenStamps. I stamped and paper pieced the head and hands. I made the body of the snowman with die cut circles. I went around the edges with a black marker to try to make it look more like it was stamped. Her face is from the Happy Snow Couples Face Assortment also from PeachyKeenStamps
The whole idea here is that the snowman looks like you're looking down at it from above...make sense? I added wink of stella to the hat, mittens, and around the outline of the snowman/lady. The greeting is from the Winter Cheer set by MyCreativeTime
